It's the final countdown.
On Sunday, May 16, 2010, seven young adventurers/
students/TKC staff members will travel from Manhattan to London and from London to Uganda in the heart of East Africa. We'll spend three weeks discovering how King's College students and Ugandans can learn from one another and connect long-term. We'll be working on art projects with Ugandan university students, teaching children in the Kampala slums, connecting with Ugandan churches, and more.
Until then, though, we only have two goals: 1) survive the annual schlep, a.k.a. moving in and out of messy NYC apartments and 2) raise $1,500 in three days. Lots of prayer (and lots of giving) should do the trick.
Fellow team members, I salute you. Grasslands and giraffes and great new friends await. And, until then, thank God for dollies, taxis, and Manhattan Mini-Storage.
Until next time,
Betsy
And for oreo shakes and sweet potato fries ;)
